HERE TO LISTEN TO YOUR VOICE

  • Create a path for your voice to be genuinely heard

  • Continue to listen to your voice as I have as President of the Neighborhood Coalition of Oakland Park and President of the Corals of Oakland Park Neighborhood Association

  • Initiate four Town Halls a year as additional forums to hear residents’ voices

  •  Increase number of City Commission workshops for residents to participate in our government

  • Always focusing on your needs

HERE TO PROMOTE SMART GROWTH

  • Focus on bringing in more small, independent businesses to create unique retail niche

  • Partner with Oakland Park Business Group to create more business opportunities

  • Expand business and resident input to the CRA (Community Redevelopment Agency) Board

  • Extend façade improvement grant program

  • Ensure smart growth includes Prospect Blvd., Powerline Road Business Corridor, and West

      Oakland Park Blvd.

  • Use impact fee waivers as enticement for the right development

HERE TO BUILD STRONGER NEIGHBORHOODS

  • Keep our neighborhoods safe by ensuring BSO and Fire/Rescue have the resources they need

  • Hold Broward County accountable to make improvements to our schools including Northeast High School.

  • Make sure residents and developers are brought “to the same table” for potential developments in neighborhoods

  • Explore building a Senior Center

  •  Create a Library Annex and BSO substation in western Oakland Park

HERE TO ADVOCATE FOR A GREENER CITY

  • Increase number of urban parks citywide

  • Hire more employees dedicated to cleaning up city beyond “downtown”

  • Start a yard waste collection/mulching program

  •  Increase tree canopies along Oakland Park Blvd.

  • Reduce the use of styrofoam products used in the city

  • Ensure the city is using environment-friendly weed killers
